How about Dominique Piton?? Can anyone remember him??? Well he is making the debut with this Circular, give him a worth while welcome.
He is one of those that took me some time to get, and then to receive an answer.
His brother Vincent, is here in Venezuela
This talk centred on the opening of the Mount to visits by girls, one excuse or another.
Also about the Farfan sisters and slowly I had a story to bring out.

Her sister is having a hard time with her husband (Parkinson), my prayers to her.
Pricilla has another story to tell.

Ladislao how are you?
I received your first e-mail several months ago but since I am travelling very often I was not able to answer you immediately and when I was finally at home and ready to do it, I found out that several E-mails were deleted during my trips.
I suspect my wife did a wrong move wanting to clear up the computer (although she would not admit it).
This is the reason for me not answering.
I remember you quite well when as far back as 1961-62 you were teaching me to throw the javelin.
You were pretty good at that.
I left the Abbey after graduation end of 1963 and went back to France
Was teaching mathematics, physics and chemistry for 20 years and then moved to 3M Cie to work for their organofluorine products for another 20 years.
During that time and as a hobby I started training dogs for obedience and biting work like the police dogs.
Mostly German and Belgiam shepherds, in different disciplines and entering regular events.
I finally qualified as a judge for three programs and that is why I continue to travel almost as much as when I was working.
Last year I was out to Canada , Mexico , 3 times to U.S.A.
Twice to Philippines and this year I am just back from Vancouver and will be leaving in a week to Chicago
Life is funny, a few months ago I had a phone call from a guy in Trinidad who wants me to go over and have a seminar on training dogs and set up the fundamentals for them to start practising on a regular basis.
He was most amazed when I told him I spend more than four years at The Abbey School.
Out of that it may seem obvious that I have a dog!! As a matter of fact we have four dogs.
I read Priscilla's message and although after some 40 years I believe there is what we call here "prescription" there is no reason why she should say I did some "sneeking off illegally" so every body knows (laugh)
You can tell her that if we could go back 40 years, I would still sneek off illegally!
May be you could give her my e-mail or give me hers so I could tell her directly.
Ladislao when I am back from Chicago I hope to have some more time and will then give you some more details of what I did since I left Mount.

Yes, the name Dominique Piton is very familiar, actually he is an old boy-friend of mine and I would love to communicate with him.
I want to say, if my memory does not fail me too much, that he is either from Guadeloupe or from Martinique .
There was another French Creole Joel Blandin??? Who I think I read in one of your past Circulars has passed away, I think.
No memory of an Attila Gyuris.
About the boys sneaking off to Tunapuna illegally after hours, don't know about that but they, Dominique and Joel, did sneak off and find their ways to my home, which was directly below the Monastery,
Actually my father's land bounded with Mount St. Benedict¡¯s land boundary.
Today that house no longer stands but there is still some land that belongs to the family. We are two brothers, sister Annabella who lives in the Island of Barbados
Don't remember too much about Fr. Theo's efforts at teaching the boys how to socialize, but I do remember Sports Day, Family Days et cetera, all those boys!
I was born in 1946 and so calculate that perhaps my relationship with Mount must be around 1960 through to 1965 (I think?)
Sorry for not be much help, really with the prohibitions of that period, outside of the Family Days/Sports Days and the sporadic escapes, not much more was done.

I wonder how you got my email address.
My brother Gregory Farfan was an old boy from the Mount.
That was many moons ago when Priscilla and I met boys from MSB.
Joel Blandin and Dominique Piton, two scouts visited us at home.
Our house was the first house below the Mount on Santa Margarita Hill.
We grew up on Santa Margarita Hill and our father's land bounded with Mount St. Benedict.
The scouts used to come down the hill to visit my sister Priscilla and me.
We think they walked/hiked down the hill "thru de bush" to our house.
We (Gregory, Dominic, Priscilla and I) still have some land up on the hill which we inherited from our Dad Godfrey Farfan.
We also met at sports days, fund raiser harvest events and also the scouts used to meet us - St. Joseph 's Convent, St. Joseph
As young teenagers we went to the Mount on Sports Day and attended functions up there.
I was a girl guide and we used to walk up Laventille hill for these devotions and the reward was that we met the scouts of MSB there.
We also met the scouts once at a Jamboree in Valsayn.
I have been living in Barbados
We have two sons -- one here in Barbados and the other in Florida
Priscilla lives in Medellin , Colombia
She also lived in Bogota for a few years and before that, in Caracas
Gregory and Dominic both live in Trinidad with their families.
Dominic did not go to school at Mt. St
He went to Fatima College
Gregory Farfan, our younger brother who was a day pupil at MSB used to deliver the letters from Joel and Dominique.
Joel and I were teenage girlfriend and boyfriend and Dominique was Priscilla's boyfriend .....just for a short while as we were not allowed to go out with boys in those days.
Then after we finished secondary school and went different ways and the MSB boys went back home, we never heard nor saw them again.
We always loved MSB for the view and peace and serenity.
We went to Mass there sometimes but mostly at St. Joseph 's Church in St. Joseph
We also went to Mass at the church at the bottom of the MSB hill in St. John
I celebrated my 60th birthday last October 2005 and Priscilla will turn 60 on December 23, 2006 so you see that was eons ago.

Recently I received some information from Pricilla on the girls/boys reunions at MSB.
I would like to publish something on how the boy girl's reunions took place.
When the girls were invited to the school, was there dance, and where? In the theater hall? Or was it outdoors?
Were there refreshments? Was it during the afternoon?
I know that there was a school rock band or something like it?
Were the boys allowed to go to the girl's school? and if so what was the event?
When I was there the no girls policy was in effect, so only when going to Pos we saw them.
There was a mention about Dominique Piton, Attila Gyuris, Andres Larsen, whom have written.
I wish we had them in our time; it took me quite some time to get accustomed to them.

Surprise, surprise, I received an e-mail from Dominique Piton where he tells me that his brother Vincent lives in Caracas and so got my address from you.
It is so nice to hear from someone after so many, many years.
I do not know Vincent.
I do not live in Barbados
I live in some magnificent hills, (2,200 metres 40 kilometres east of the city of Medellin, Antioquia, Colombia.
Some time if you are interested, I will send you some pictures of my home and surroundings which are very special.

Hi Ladislao,
Sorry for the delay in answering but I do not know if I have ever mentioned it but my husband has Parkinson's disease and as I tell him, he is loved by Jesus as much as the late Pope John Paul II, who also had Parkinson's.
My husband depends on me for just about everything, even meeting his personal needs, so sometimes I have very little time to sit down and dedicate to my In-Box. Annabella's addresses are as follows:

Dear folks,
My cousin Ian Cope was an Abbey School
If you all could help the U.K Cancer Research please do so in his memory, his daughter Tracey is doing a 5.K walk in his honour for the Cancer Assoc.
He was at Abbey in the days of Edward Lloyd, Don Mitchell, Vernon De Lima to name a few, the early 50's.
I am sure a lot of old boys would remember Ian from St. Augustine
